Week 2 - Reflecting on Anthropological Research Methodologies

Your assignment this week is to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of ethnographic research methodology. In the first two weeks we have discussed anthropological research methods, centered around participant observation. In at least one page of (double-spaced) writing, describe possible strengths of these methods. For what kinds of research could anthropological methods be particularly effective? What possible drawbacks exist? Feel free to compare anthropological methods with other research methods, but be sure to focus primarily on the former.
