This week please write a short essay reconsidering the questions that began this course:
What is the point of theory? What does it do? What is theory used to do? Who does it help? Who does it hurt? What does it build, challenge, support, or refuse?
To be clear, in this assignment I am not asking you to summarize all the theory you have learned to describe what it says about how society works. I am asking you to consider how social theory, as a category itself, works in society generally and / or your experiences specifically.
