In this first week of our course, I’d like you to take this opportunity to write about what you think about gender in Japan. What kinds of associations do you have within gender in Japan, or Japanese gender? Frame your writing around one or two specific examples, which can be from media (like movies or tv), fantastical or very realistic contexts.
Make your writing at least one typed page, double spaced.
