Short Writing Assignment
Due at 12 midnight on Wednesday to your Collab dropbox folder
(Please understand you can turn it in early! I am not in any way suggesting you stay up late to finish it. Please go to sleep.)
This week I’m asking you to make an annotated list of possible answers to the question “What’s the point of college?” What answers could you imagine people giving to this question? What are the possible answers? You’re welcome to organize your writing in a list but give an explanation for each answer of at least a few sentences. For instance, rather than just saying “learning” (which surely might be an answer!) explain what you mean when you say that “learning” could be a point of college.
If you would like to make a note of which answer(s) you agree with -- which ones you would give yourself -- that’s fine but not required.
You are also completely welcome to poll your friends and include their answers in your list, but only if the answer makes sense to you and you explain it.
I will read your assignments before our second session and please come to class prepared to talk through what you wrote about.
