I will use this page to share writing resources as they come up in our class discussions. If you find something particularly helpful, send it to me and I’ll be happy to share it with the class.

U of M’s Sweetland Center for Writing offers multiple ways to consult about writing. Here are additional resources for international or bilingual students. At the bottom of that page they have a list of grammar tips.

A doctoral student recommended Grammarly, although I haven’t ever used it myself.

Writing 350: Excelling in Upper Level Writing is a one-credit course designed for students transferring into the University from other institutions who seek extra support in mastering upper-level writing. Writing 119: Style and Editing for International Students is a one-credit mini course beginning February 22nd designed for international and multilingual students that can be taken alongside their other writing courses. Writing 340: Advanced Writing for International Students is a one-credit course that will help international and multilingual students learn to meet the expectations in Upper-Level Writing Requirement courses. Any of these one-credit courses may be taken congruently with a student’s Upper-Level Writing Requirement Course. Students can add 340 and 350 any time before the drop-add deadline of January 24th, and 119 any time before March 8th.
