For any number of reasons – including illness and emergencies – students might have to miss class. Particularly, at this moment as we all are still dealing with Covid circulating in our communities, I am happy to support students staying home when they need to. It is thoughtful and responsible to stay isolated when you are sick; that helps us all stay healthier.

If you are unable to attend a class meeting, please email me as soon as possible.

If you are feeling well enough to zoom into class, please use this link so you can participate as usual. The quiz will happen over Canvas in the regular time. You need to inform me asap if you want to use this link so I can be prepared; if you don't tell me, there is some chance it won't be possible.

If you are not able to participate via zoom, please follow these steps:
1) Listen to the (audio) recording of the class discussion on Canvas / Media Gallery.
2) Write 500 words in response to what was discussed in that recording. Please write what you would have said in response to specific comments or questions, had you been part of the conversation. Upload your response to Canvas / Participation.
3) Complete the reading quiz on Canvas before the next class meeting. Please note that, fitting the different context, the quizzes on Canvas will be timed.
4) To get credit, these tasks must be completed before the next class meeting.

If you need to miss multiple class meetings, I suggest you reach out to your academic advisor so they can alert all your professors that you might need extra time or assistance. If you're not sure who to contact, please let me know and I can help.
